I know that MyCampusNet is a Mesh Network with many ports closed, and doesn't like to work with certain devices such as the Google Chromecast and many wireless printers. I highly suggest trying a wireless router for these devices, assuming your apartment also has an Ethernet Port. I was able to get a Belkin AC1600 for about $15 on eBay.
