Appen bought out Raterlabs so they're sort of the same company. But Appen proper offers different jobs than Raterlabs and you can't work for both at the same time. As far as I know you can apply for both, and I definitely would because wait time can be months, but you'll have to pick which one you'd prefer if both offer you projects.

After three test retakes, I finally passed the raterlabs exam. Two days in, and I think I'm going to quit. They advertise $12.50 an hour. However, each task has an estimated time it should take to complete, and I am consistantly taking twice as long or longer.
